Sonam Wangchuk Praises Indian Railways After Vande Bharat Journey, Raises Paper Leak Bill Concerns

Sonam Wangchuk shares his Delhi-Srinagar Vande Bharat journey experience, praises Indian Railways, welcomes the Anti-Paper Leak Bill, and urges the government to protect protesting students.

Social activist Sonam Wangchuk, who sat on a hunger strike at Jantar Mantar against paper leaks, has shared a new video in which he is seen praising Indian Railways. Wangchuk posted the video himself on the social media platform X, sharing his experience of travelling on the Delhi-Srinagar Vande Bharat train.

In the video, Sonam Wangchuk said that he felt proud of Indian Railways and also spoke about the Anti-Paper Leak Bill. In the caption of the video uploaded on X, Wangchuk wrote, “I am proud of Indian Railways. I also want to be proud of the promises made by the Government of India. Copy- Left Rightn Centre.”

In the video, Wangchuk said, “As I told you people, we are leaving for Ladakh. We travelled by train. This is my favourite mode of transport. This time, I had my first experience of the Vande Bharat service that has started from Delhi to Srinagar. I also wanted to see the bridge built on the Chenab. It was a very beautiful experience. I am very proud of Indian Railways.”

Wangchuk expressed happiness over the introduction of a bill in Parliament related to examination reforms. He said, “After one day of rest, with clean air and water from Kashmir, we are now moving towards Ladakh. Apart from this, I want to say that I am happy that a bill has been brought in Parliament on reforms in examinations. I hope that reforms continue not only in examinations but also in the education system.”

Wangchuk also appealed to the government to continue with the commitment made regarding students who participated in protests. He said, “I would also like to appeal to the government that they should stand by the written agreements made with me and CJP that action will not be taken against students who participated in the protests. FIRs will not be registered. Create an atmosphere of trust among the country’s young generation. Together, everyone should work towards nation-building and making India great again.”

The video comes after Wangchuk’s hunger strike at Jantar Mantar against paper leaks, where he had raised concerns related to examination reforms and the need to build confidence among the youth. His latest remarks highlighted both his appreciation for Indian Railways after his Delhi-Srinagar Vande Bharat journey and his expectations regarding reforms in the examination and education systems.
